How to Increase Your Chances of Getting Pregnant

Are you contemplating or currently trying for a little human?
Here are a few tips to help you to try and maximise your chances of conceiving!

1. A Healthy Diet

It goes without saying that having a healthy balanced diet will help your chances of becoming pregnant! Everything in proportion is what I live by, it's ok to have a bit of chocolate, just don't go overboard and stock up on those fruit and veg! Also try to reduce your caffeine intake - studies have shown this to help your chances of conceiving, so instead try the de-caf versions. I am an absolute tea addict and I don't notice a difference at all!

2. Don't get yourself in a twist!

As hard as it can be to do (trust me if you knew me you'd know I'm a complete stressie Bessie) try your best to de-stress when trying to conceive! The less stressed and uptight your are about making a baby the higher your chances could be of conceiving! I don't know how many times I've heard of couples who have tried for x amount of years and when they have decided to stop "trying" wham bam sam's your man and baby is conceived!! As hard as it is, try to relax a little - I am a firm believer in 'it will happen when it is supposed to' so sit back and enjoy the 'ride' 😉

3. Dad's diet and well being

Although us ladies will be the 'grower' of these little humans, it's important for the male in the equation to be off good health too, so those little swimmers that are oh so important to the process can perform their job properly! Dad's diet is important too - so make sure he is eating a healthy balanced diet!! Also make sure he isn't too stressed about the whole situation, try and relax about it as much as you can! P.s slightly weird tip, but one I remember when starting the journey - make sure he isn't wearing any 'tighty whities' as you want to keep that area as cool as possible - boxers all the way 😉

4. Go easy or cut out your alcohol intake

It goes without saying that drinking while pregnant generally isn't advised, and if you want to give yourself the best chance of conceiving try to cut it right down or completely out! Don't worry when your little ones are bigger you will have plenty of excuses to indulge in a glass (or twenty) of vino!!

5. Getting to the nitty gritty part 😉

SEX SEX SEX!! The experts say you can do it every other day to increase your chances of conceiving! You normally have a 4-5 day window around ovulation (you can use an ovulation kit to help you determine when the best time is if it isn't possible for you to be doing the hanky panky all the time) recommending you start 2 days prior to ovulation!
I say just go for it and have fun with it! When it becomes a chore then it's no fun, so ensure you and your partner don't take it too seriously!

Hopefully these tips will help you as you begin your journey!!

Good luck 👍
